Every summer we engage kids in a camp that teaches them environmental responsibility. Part of the activity is teaching them the importance of planting vegetables. This program aims to sustain the garden tower project we started in the island of Malapascua in 2023 with the USANA Foundation.
Each kid is provided with:
1. Seedling kit that sows 24 vegetable plants
2. Coloring Booklets to enhance learning
3. Take home seed kit to grow their first plant
We engage them in fun, educational activities to empower them to make their own food. We also give YOUNG GARDENER AWARDS to those who have successfully planted a seedling during our house to house visit 14-30 days after the camp.
The seed trays the kids sowed is placed in a community nursery where they are grown to distribute to families in the island for a bountiful harvest.
