Our Story

Blue Ocean Alliance Association Inc. is a registered non-profit organization based in Cebu, Philippines, dedicated to creating sustainable, community-driven solutions for environmental preservation, food security and economic empowerment. Founded in 2024 by Camille Anne Ang, Blue Ocean builds on years of self-funded initiatives spearheaded by the founder herself including reef rehabilitations, beach clean-ups, and garden tower projects.

Before founding the organization, Camille was already deeply involved in grassroots efforts aimed at improving the lives of the underserved, particularly in rural and coastal communities. She is a nurse with a passion for community development and environmental conservation inspired by her greater purpose. The creation of Blue Ocean Alliance continues to carry her vision forward.

Blue Ocean Alliance Association Inc. primarily operates in Malapascua Island, Cebu Province, Philippines.

Malapascua, a small island community in Daanbantayan, represents the typical underserved island setting where access to nutritious food, sustainable livelihoods, and quality health services remains limited.

Current focus: Malapascua Island

Future expansion: Other island and rural communities in the Visayas region, subject to resource availability and partnership agreements.

Little Hands Program

Blue Ocean’s mission of sowing hope at home and eliminating malnutrition/food insecurity in Philippine islands (starting with Malapascua). This program is designed for the 1st Quarter (summer break, typically in April, 4–6 weeks, 2-3 sessions per/week). It dovetails seamlessly with the Garden Tower Project (2nd Quarter) by incorporating family tower replanting activities, empowering mothers as co-facilitators, and linking kids' learning to household sustainability—creating a continuum where children apply skills at home with their families' towers.

Garden Tower Project

This program aligns with our mission to eliminate malnutrition and food insecurity in Philippine islands (starting with Malapascua) by empowering mothers and households with sustainable food production tools. It focuses on the 2nd Quarter (typically April–June; 3 months, with weekly installations and follow-ups to build 200 towers annually).

BLL Feeding (Busog, Lusog, Ligaya)

This feeding initiative focuses on consistent daily nutrition for underweight and at-risk children from 4Ps families, emphasizing stigma-free health monitoring, safeguarding, gender sensitivity, and community empowerment.

Winter Wonder Island

A gift-giving activity every Christmas
