Our annual gift-giving in Malapascua has been made possible because of your support. Last year, we have given a total of 352 gifts. With our local partners, we have identified the children recipients this year - 316 kids this December!

More of what we do

Blue Ocean Alliance Association Inc. primarily operates in Malapascua Island, Cebu Province, Philippines.

Malapascua, a small island community in Daanbantayan, represents the typical underserved island setting where access to nutritious food, sustainable livelihoods, and quality health services remains limited.

Current focus: Malapascua Island

Future expansion: Other island and rural communities in the Visayas region, subject to resource availability and partnership agreements.

Little Hands Program

Blue Ocean’s mission of sowing hope at home and eliminating malnutrition/food insecurity in Philippine islands (starting with Malapascua). This program is designed for the 1st Quarter (summer break, typically in April, 4–6 weeks, 2-3 sessions per/week). It dovetails seamlessly with the Garden Tower Project (2nd Quarter) by incorporating family tower replanting activities, empowering mothers as co-facilitators, and linking kids' learning to household sustainability—creating a continuum where children apply skills at home with their families' towers.

Garden Tower Project

This program aligns with our mission to eliminate malnutrition and food insecurity in Philippine islands (starting with Malapascua) by empowering mothers and households with sustainable food production tools. It focuses on the 2nd Quarter (typically April–June; 3 months, with weekly installations and follow-ups to build 200 towers annually).

BLL Feeding (Busog, Lusog, Ligaya)

This feeding initiative focuses on consistent daily nutrition for underweight and at-risk children from 4Ps families, emphasizing stigma-free health monitoring, safeguarding, gender sensitivity, and community empowerment.

Vision

Sowing Hope that Starts at Home

A Philippines where every family - beginning in the most remote islands - grows stronger, healthier, and more self-reliant through grassroots nutrition, education, and sustainable food systems, creating lasting dignity and opportunity without the need to leave the country

Mission

To eliminate malnutrition and food insecurity in island communities

CORE VALUES

Begin with the end in mind

We plan every action with long-term dignity, self-reliance, and community transformation in view— building sustainable solutions that outlast short-term aid

Love your neighbors as yourself

Compassion drives our work. We serve with genuine care, respect, and solidarity, treatingevery child, mother, and household as family—especially in underserved island communities where mutual support is the foundation of resilience.

Use resources wisely

Stewardship is central: we maximize every donation, partnership, and material (from garden towers to feeding supplies) for maximum impact, prioritizing efficiency, transparency, and environmental sustainability to ensure resources benefit generations.

Empower mothers

Mothers are the heart of the home and community. By equipping them with skills, knowledge, and tools (like garden towers and nutrition education), we enable them to lead household food security, nurture healthier children, and build stronger, self-sufficient families.

Sowing Hope in Filipino Communities

"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate the beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch Or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded!”

- Ralph Waldo Emerson
